Playing with your cat is the best possible way to build up a bond between the two of you. This makes your cat more attached to you.
Another way to ensure your cat stays healthy is by making sure you don’t overfeed him, and also make sure he has plenty of play time. If you have an indoor cat, then one way to get him to have some exercise is through play time.
Play time with your cat encourages them to become more confident. Encourage you cat with regular snuggle times, this will help your cat bond when visitors come around, instead of hiding away.
Playing will help your cat develop his hunting abilities. Their hunting skills are very important, and when a cat is confined indoors, they have little chance of developing and expressing these natural instincts. Encourage kitty to chase a toy mouse, allow him to pounce for the ‘kill’. This will aid him should he ever get lost and need to find food.
Your cat will be less agressive when you play with him. Cats often display aggressive traits through boredom. Teach you cat not to scratch, attack or bite you when you play. Use praise to reward your cat for playing gently, as soon as he shows any sign he is about to use his teeth or claws – end the play session. This will encourage your cat to only show aggressive play towards their toys, and not you!
Cats today also require some fun in their lives, just as much as you do. Try and relieve your cats boredom of sleeping, eating and using the kitty box with some play time fun and toy games. You can be guaranteed to have a much happier, more relaxed and less fiesty cat.
Games for cats can be undertaken both outside or inside . Consider cat enclosures outdoor for a safe and happy cat.
