So what does it actually mean to declaw a cat? It’s just as it sounds, the cats claws are literally removed. This claws are surgically removed by a trained veterinarian while the cat is put under anesthesia. This is generally done for the sake of cat owners who have problems with their pets ruining furniture, drapes, and carpets. Sometimes it’s done for our own sake, so when are cats get too playful they don’t hurt us with their sharp claws.
